An affordable choice for growing families, the Class C motorhome is built on a truck chassis with a van cab. The area over the cab offers a full- or queen-sized bed, with the master bedroom in the rear. Class C units can sleep four to eight, when equipped with a dinette and sofa bed that convert into sleeping space.
Most Class C motorhomes are gasoline-powered though some larger models built on medium-duty truck chassis may be diesel-powered. They offer some of the same features as Class A motorhomes, such as basement storage and towing capacity for a small or medium-sized vehicle, boat, horse trailer or cargo trailer. Class C motorhomes range in length from about 21 to 37 feet. Prices start at about $60,000 for new models, ranging up to about $300,000 for deluxe models built on medium-duty truck chassis.
