When you’re ready to step up to Class A luxury, Monaco Coach’s Monarch line introduces you to the royal treatment. Available in five spacious floorplans ranging from 30 to 35 feet, the Monarch sports a number of new features for 2008 that make it even more comfortable and convenient.

What’s New

The ’08 Monarch sports redesigned fiberglass front and rear caps for a smooth, contemporary silhouette. Full-body paint with vinyl graphics gives this affordable coach a classy look.

A redesigned automotive dash reflects the clean lines of the exterior and puts all gauges and controls within easy reach of the plush leatherette driver’s seat. The cockpit also now features a 26" LCD TV, and a 20" TV in the bedroom is now standard for viewing from the queen bed with convenient nightstands.

Solid surface kitchen countertops now accent handsome raised panel cabinet doors in your choice of two lustrous wood finishes. An elegant china toilet with spray offers home-like comfort when you step into the bathroom.

Built Like a Fortress

Monaco has adapted the same principles of their diesel chassis technology to gasoline-powered Workhorse or Ford chassis. Instead of using outriggers to hang walls and storage compartments, Monaco’s SmartStructure II design uses an exclusive truss system integrated with chassis rails to create a solid platform. The truss system works with the chassis to channel weight toward the center of the coach for greater strength and better weight distribution. The floor and storage bays are all one piece.

The exclusive Alumaframe® C-channel Superstructure replaces outdated wood and tubular aluminum construction to make the Monarch lighter and sturdier than other coaches. Nine-layer roof construction, five-layer sidewall construction and four-layer floor construction guarantee superior strength, durability and insulation. Slide-outs also feature multi-layer construction for maximum insulation and reduced chance of warping, twisting or shifting. The cockpit offers the safety of steel cage construction.

Convenience Features

You’ll get the best view of the road through Monaco’s exclusive one-piece Panaview™ windshield that eliminates the annoying seam down the center of the windshield on other motorhomes. Storage bay doors open from the side instead of the top for easier access to your gear in the pass-through bays. One-piece polyethylene boxes are easy to wash down. Power heated remote exterior mirrors make driving safer and easier in any weather.

For on-the-road entertainment, opt for Sirius satellite radio. A built-in GPS navigation system is available when you choose the in-dash rear view monitor system. These coaches come digital satellite system-ready for both front and rear TV locations, and have handy curbside connections for satellite, cable and 110-volt AC.

Available options, depending on model, include eight cubic foot or ten cubic foot refrigerator with ice maker, range with oven, central vacuum system, front and rear DVD players and an exterior AM/FM/CD entertainment center. Other handy options include a 50-amp Energy Management System, built-in holding tank flush system, 10 gallon propane/electric water heater, single or dual air conditioners with heat pump, powered fan/vents in kitchen and bath areas, heated fresh water tank and window and patio awnings. The driver will appreciate the optional power sunvisors and optional driver’s side door with electric window.

New Interior Designs

The Monarch is available in your choice of three carpet, upholstery and bedspread fabric combinations. Of the five available floorplans, three offer full-wall driver side slide-outs for maximum living space. Tile covers kitchen and bathroom floors that see lots of traffic. Living and sleeping areas are carpeted. All floorplans offer plenty of cabinet and wardrobe space.

Power Plants

A 6.8 liter V-10 powers the Ford chassis. The Workhorse chassis is powered by an 8.1 liter V-8. Both feature electronic fuel injection, 19.5 or 22.5 inch radial tires, leaf spring suspension, anti-lock braking, 75 gallon fuel tank, 5000 lb. hitch receiver with electrical connection and wiring for a supplemental braking system.

The Ford V-10 packs 362 hp and 457 lbs./ft. of torque. It’s fitted with the TorqShift five-speed automatic overdrive transmission with tow/haul mode and a 130-amp alternator. Rear axle ratio is 5.38:1 on both the 20,500 lb. and 22,000 lb. rated chassis.

The Workhorse V-8 gives you 340 hp and 455 lbs./ft. of torque and is mated with a six-speed automatic transmission with overdrive and a 145 amp alternator. Rear axle ratio is 5.13:1 for the 20,700 lb. rated chassis and 5.86:1 for the 22,000 lb. rated chassis.

The Monarch comes with an Onan® 4.0 KW or 5.5 KW gas generator (depending on model), a 60-amp electronic 12-volt power converter, twin six-volt house batteries and 30-amp or 50-amp 120-volt distribution panel and cord.
