No cabin electricity when plugged in in my 1974 Chevy El Dorado. Anyone know what could be up?

We just purchased this RV. The previous owners were living in it and had full power, but now, when we plug in we can't get any power out of the outlets in the cabin. We know about flipping the switch from battery to converter, but still, that does nothing...
