I'm constantly harassed by the police over parking.
Is there a book on RV owners civil rights on th
The other day a cop in San Rafael said I could not "inhabit" my RV during the day.
I was ticketed not so long ago parked on a street with no signed restictions. When I went to the police station they said it was a city ordinance against RV parking. "There was no sign posted" I lamented with no mercy shown by of course.
We are constantly being victimised / hassled and moved on!
Does anyone know of a book that might help us with our rights?
Regards,
Peter

Camguy, I'd join the Escapees RV Club as they are very active in acting upon Legislative issues, ordinances, and restrictions that directly affect the RV community. We've been a member for years and have enjoyed the benefits and practical information they provide. I hope this helps ~ Giovanni

I have heard that all WalMarts will let an RV park in their outter areas for up to three days. I have seen motorhomes at our local store several times and many others in stores around the country. 'course I'd be enclined to ask first, but that would get you off the 'publc' streets and away from the patrol cars. With a little planning prior to a trip, one might find other such places- like Malls. Also, a little internet research will yield public sites for waste dump and pottable water. Have fun - coast whenever you can.
Hope this has helped.
