Am I able to get satelite tv without a subscription? The answer to your question is “yes” and “no”. If you want to watch without a subscription you need to buy and install the equipment for the basic system. There are many free channels out there to watch, however very few are broadcast in English. Most satellite TV customers get their programming through a direct broadcast satellite (DBS) provider, such as DirecTV or DISH Network. The provider selects programs and broadcasts them to subscribers as a set package. I hope this helps ~ Giovanni
