  1. drttlaw: On the question I have above, note the missing part:"...or the valve failed to allow propane to go in. What is the part and estimated replacement cost? Thanks for your advice. ttlaw.

drttlaw: I have to make a lot of assumptions in attempting to answer your questions, but here goes. I’m assuming that you have a Class A or C motorhome equipped with an ASME tank since you said “you took it in for a propane refill.” On ASME tanks, the fill opening or valve on the ASME tank is a separate opening from the service valve. The fill opening on the ASME tank is only used for filling the tank with liquid propane and has an overfilling prevention device or (OPD). I would suspect this is the connection that has the “problem”, as the vapor withdrawal service valve is the valve that is opened to allow propane vapor into the system. The handle of this valve is used to turn the gas supply off and on and again is sometimes called the “shutoff valve.” The cost of repair will vary. I’d get several prices for different dealers. The job requires removing any propane from the tank prior to replacement of the valve, and may require the tank to be removed from the vehicle. I hope this helps ~ Giovanni
