I’m going to take a stab at answering this, although you have not provided me the information needed to give you an accurate answer.
The S-10 is available in six models, and not knowing which one you have limits me somewhat, also you have not provided the GVWR of your 1987 trailer.
The approximate tow capacity of the Chevrolet S-10 is 2,000 lbs. If your trailer weighs more than that fully loaded the answer is NO you cannot tow that trailer with the S-10.
Remember that you would need a frame mounted receiver hitch assembly to fully utilize the towing capacity of the S-10.
When in doubt, I recommend that you visit a Camping World location and talk to them. They have information on what vehicles can tow and what hitches can be installed.
I hope this helps ~ Giovanni
